Prayer Team

WHAT IS IT?

A team of people who believe in the power of prayer, and are committed to meet regularly to pray for clients in need.

HOW IT WORKS:

The Prayer Team gathers once a week to pray together for JC Cares, JC Works, and the needs of our clients. In addition, we meet at special times for prayer walks, urgent prayer needs, or to pray for upcoming events. The Prayer Team also makes itself available to meet with a client for more extensive prayer times offering extra prayer and support. This prayer time includes sharing scripture and listening to God for his direction.

GOAL

We believe that the healing, truth, and freedom these clients need can only come from God's mighty power in their lives. Therefore, the Prayer Team exists to see God move, meet needs, heal, and set free. We gather with expectant hearts filled with faith to listen to the Lord and communicate with him on a person's behalf. We believe God has given us the privilege to come boldly before His throne in prayer.

Hebrews 4:16

"Let us then approach God's throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need."

Therefore, we are inviting other believers in Jesus to pray with us for these beloved clients, as we believe God wants to break chains of bondage in their lives and grant the freedom found in Jesus Christ.

JC Works Prayer Partners:

Our JC Works Clients often have individual prayer needs. In order to ensure they are being covered in prayer on a consistent basis, we like to offer each employee their own prayer partner. The prayer partner is responsible for learning the person’s needs and praying for them a minimum of once a week in extended prayer. This prayer time can be done at home.

Isaiah‬ 61:1-3‬ NIV

The Spirit of the Sovereign Lord is on me,
because the Lord has anointed me
to proclaim good news to the poor.
He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted,
to proclaim freedom for the captives
and release from darkness for the prisoners,
to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor
and the day of vengeance of our God,
to comfort all who mourn, and provide

for those who grieve in Zion—
to bestow on them a crown of beauty

     instead of ashes,
the oil of joy instead of mourning,
    and a garment of praise

instead of a spirit of despair.
They will be called oaks of righteousness,
    a planting of the Lord

for the display of his splendor.

Note from Stephanie:

"Most of us, at one time or another, have experienced what its like to feel hopeless, unloved, depressed or to have little faith for circumstances to change.  Many of our JC Cares clients have these feelings everyday. Prayer exists to allow us to communicate with God and participate in seeing God work miraculously in people's lives."
